Got the oil paints out again, getting re-acquainted with some practice. I used yellow ochre, permanent red medium, burnt sienna, prussian blue, titanium white.
I painted these 2 in the studio this morning as a warm-up. I used vine charcoal & black and white craft-grade acrylic paint mixed with retarder to aid wet-in-wet application. The surface is corrugated cardboard.
I have entered my painting "The Red Hat" into the 2014 Jerry's Artarama Self-Portrait Contest. If you would like to vote for my entry, please follow the link below:
Toiling, rejoicing, sorrowing,
Onward through life he goes;
Each morning sees some task begin,
Each evening sees it close;
Something attempted, something done,
Has earned a night's repose.
